Minimum requirements for position

  • Currently hold a verifiable SECRET security clearance vetted through JPAS.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Currently hold and be able to maintain BRP OEM Outboard Motor maintenance and repair technician certification and Yamaha Technical Academy Wave runner maintenance and repair technician certification or industry equivalent training and/or certification, such as that which can be received from Marine Mechanics Institute.
  • Have the capacity and technical skills needed to make all levels of repairs to steering, electrical, instrumentation, computer controls, driver controls, fuel delivery systems, carburetion and injection, exhaust and power train systems.
  • Capable of repairing boat trailer electrical, suspension and brake systems.
  • Able to operate surface support craft.
  • Able to obtain personnel and vehicle access to military installations.

The Small Surface Craft Maintenance Technician provides support for Naval Special Warfare Group Three.  This position will maintain depot level marine maintenance and repair services for NSW-owned and operated Surface Support Crafts (SSC), Jet Skis, outboard motors (OBM), sponsons, and boat trailers in a safe, reliable and ready operational state.  Reviews technical manuals (3M, OEM), instructions, and specifications, providing recommendations for additions, deletions and revisions.  Provides input to specifications for any commercial maintenance or repair packages to ensure that all required repairs are accurately described and expeditiously completed.

  • Anticipated and estimated travel is four times for five days from Hawaii to Keyport, WA.
